GoPro cameras and broken clips
Which GoPro cameras leave clips that won’t open, and how to get the footage back.
GoPro cameras write the index that makes a clip playable at the very end, when you press stop. If the battery dies, the card fills or the camera crashes first, the clip is left as an .MP4 (or .360) that won’t open, even though the picture and sound are on the card. RSV Rescue rebuilds these clips from the file alone, with no reference clip.
